How many times have you looked at your TV whilst watching something and thought ‘I would love to have a wardrobe like her’ or ‘I wish I could find an outfit like that’. Fear no more, I have scoured the internet to ensure that this fantasy can indeed become a reality. There is an outfit for everyone – whether you prefer modest fashion or slightly more bold fashion, there is an option for all within this list.
Rachel Green

‘Friends Fashion’ is most certainly a recognised phrase and flicking the a look-book of Rachel Green would make you understand why. The style of Jenifer Aniston’s character was effortless yet simply stunning. Throughout the show, she worked with many fashion companies – Ralph Lauren, Bloomingdales and Louis Vuitton. This list explains all you need to know about why her style was so enviable. One of her most iconic looks was this school-girl ensemble. I have scoured the internet, high and low, to find the perfect re-creation of this outfit so that you can also feel like the perfect fashionista – it is bound to get a few head-turns and compliments.
Blair Waldorf

‘Gossip girl’ fashion was trendy, colourful and stylish. Blair’s style is ultimate perfection – she could have easily walked out of a shop window or a runway and nobody would have questioned it. Hair, make-up, colour co-ordination – her styling never failed. Blair’s style was a perfect translation of the ‘upper-east-side’ stereotype of where she was located and she LOVED it. Honestly, why not? I’m sure if we had a wardrobe that boasted the same wonderful collection as Blair’s, we wouldn’t complain about conforming to stereotypes. Well, it’s now your turn to practice being an upper east-sider…. invest in the beautiful garms and practice your model walk!
Serena Celia van der Woodsen

It’s essential that I had to recognise the fact that there are two main female characters in Gossip Girl. Serena is not one to be missed. Her style is slightly different to Blairs, she typically incorporated a mixture of both vintage clothing pieces and fashion-forward staples to create a boho-style. She slimly incorporates ‘upper east-side’ fashion but adds a layer of edginess – I love this. The outfit that I have chosen is sophisticated but bold, the hit of yellow draws slightly away from the conservative fashion of the shirt-skirt ensemble… it most certainly works. She knows how to put a spin on an outfit to make truly capture the ‘wow-factor’. Channel your inner Serena and brave something bold!
Carrie Bradshaw

Carrie Bradshaw was most certainly the star of the show when it came to Sex and the city. Her style was generally stylishly simple but always had a statement piece – whether that was a necklace, hat or a tulle skirt, Carrie had it down to a tee. Her style was unique, brave even – she continued exposing outfits of intrigue and created envy in a lot of viewers. The outfit that I have chosen to re-create is one of the most searched regarding Sex and the city. Who would have thought that a tank top could work so well with a pouffy tutu… nobody. It’s effortless, chic and summarises her character perfectly.
Jackie Burkhart

The epitome of 70s fashion. Mila Kunis’ character, Jackie, gave full justice to the era in which she was promoting. She conformed to every 70s trend that you could ever possibly think of – and did it with the best execution. She made every teen want to re-adjust to fashions of the past, she still does. 70s fashion style is swinging back around and honestly, I am not complaining. Its effortlessly fabulous! The outfit I have chosen is easily re-created due to its simplicity, you can play about with it too! You can choose a block-coloured pair of flares and team it up with a patterned crop-top of your choice for that effortless Jackie Burkhart look!
Aria Montgomery

Anyone that has watched Prettylittleliars will have held fashion-envy for Aria at one stage or another. She often finds herself on the edge of fashion, breaking the norm. Fishnets, skull tees and pink hair could summarise her in the first season. However, as she grows into a young adult, her fashion slowly adapts and it continues to wow viewers. Aria is imaginative and much like Serena from Gossip girl, likes to add quirky selections to her outfits to change it up. This outfit is effortlessly-chic. The neckline of the bardot-top looks wonderful with her short hair and the cape jacket creates the perfect vertical line to alternate from the other shapes. The printed skirt then throws in that quirky accent that Aria so greatly incorporates into her outfits.
Hilary Banks

A style icon of the 90s that was well and truly under-rated. She was incredible! Her style largely resolved around silhouettes. Her figure was amazing and it made sense that she should make the most of it. Figure-hugging, colour co-ordinated and elegant. She was very in-control of her outfits and knew which style worked for her, she was feminine, poised and wore every outfit with an envious amount of conviction. The outfit that I chose was one that I personally remember adoring when growing up. The animal print dress matched with the simplicity of the blazer and boots was pure class. She also showed the right amount of leg to accentuate her features without disobeying the modesty of the outfit. This would be a perfect outfit for you to strut out to dinner in!
Olivia Pope

Olivia is the true queen when it comes to a suit. Reflecting her power and dominance within the show, she flips gender norms on the head with her repeated use of suits. She is everything you could ever wish to be as a woman in power. This particular suit is to-die-for, the colour in particular looks incredible on her. The power of the suit is that it immediately makes people look, it makes people listen. Mixing this outfit with a perfectly preened manicure and styled hair, you could be the talk of the town.
Alexis Colby

The perfect TV show for representing women of the highest class. The outfits, the perms, the drippings of jewellery. Joan Collins role as Alexis was one of the most elite castings of the 80s. This outfit completely encapsulates the decade – the shoulder pads, the chunky belt, the bold earrings. Don’t be disarrayed because your mother or grandmother wore similar get-ups, they wore them because they were an image of style… you too can be that stylish symbol.
Cher Horowitz

Anybody that has watched this film was desperate for the outfit. Cher was the ultimate it-girl, the figure-head for school girl fashion. It was THE outfit of the 90s, the trademark. Everyone wanted to dress just like Cher and it is a trend that has never died. The outfit remains a guilty pleasure and inspiration to many wardrobes across the globe. Look no further though, I have found the perfect re-creation for Cher’s outfit… it’s your turn to be the it-girl!
Sharon Tate

Margot Robbie has quickly grown into one of the most loved and envied actress’ of today. She is a fantastic actress of natural beauty. In 2019, she acted in the movie ‘Once upon a time in Hollywood’ (directed by Quentin Tarantino) alongside Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio. She played the role of Sharon Tate, an American actress that suffered a tragic fate. In the movie, she wears a range of 60s-inspired outfits that were truly iconic. The one that I opted to recreate was from one of the scenes in which Sharon was truly happy and care-free. The outfit is fun, quirky and looks incredible with the boots. It’s one to definitely think about for the summer.
