The cinema’s are well and truly back in their element with cinema-goers herding back to the big screen! This month, why not set aside a day for yourself? Here are five recommendations for films that really are worth the watch!
An action-packed and awe-inspiring comedy that highlights emotions perfectly. With Ryan Reynolds taking centre stage, you can almost guarantee that this film will have class… trashiness too but we are living for it! The film covers that of a bank teller called Guy, who despite living the same day on repeat, discovers that he is actually just a background player in a video game! After developing real-life emotions, he decides to change his fortunes and become the hero!
An old legend reincarnated. The monster with the hook-hand stalked the shadows of Chicago decades ago, 29 years to be precise. As an artist returns to his childhood community, he seeks inspiration in the old myths and legends of Candyman. Of course, this is a horror film we are talking about and naturally, after his summoning, Candyman is craving blood and a lot of it! If you are a horror-lover, make sure you don’t miss out on watching this one!
Shang-chi and the legend of the ten rings
Let’s be honest, anything branded with the Marvel tag deserves a whole lot of recognition. Phase 4 of the new franchise in the Marvel universe will most certainly be taking off with a bang! Shang-chi has been trained as the highest rank to become the most powerful martial artist, a master of Kung-fu. After spending a decade living a pretty simple life, he is summoned from his father for something a lot more thrilling. However, his father is an international crime lord and his intentions, well you can gather what they might be. Will Shang-chi follow in his father’s footsteps or use his talents for the greater good? Find out in three days’ time!!
Venom: Let there be carnage
Tom Hardy is back and better than ever. A superhero film with a bite; Venom is one of the most complex characters in the Marvel universe and most definitely deserves your view. I would recommend watching the first film first to get a true understanding of its sequel. Hardy’s role as a two-part character is both intriguing and massively fulfilling. He plays Eddie Brock, an investigative journalist that has become the host of the alien ‘protector’ that is Venom. Brock desperately wants to clutch at his normal life but with Venom trapped in there, it can be distracting! His main concern over the course of the film will be Woody Harrelson, as Cletus Kasady, otherwise taken over as Carnage! This is a film you won’t want to miss and it’s due for release on the 17th!
No time to die
25th in the James Bond series, Daniel Craig returns to bring us another showstopper. I don’t think it’s possible to bring a James Bond film out that doesn’t constantly have you clutching for more! Of course, this is set in modern-day times and the technological advancements are extreme. Bond has been recruited to rescue a kidnapped scientist but along the way finds himself right on the trail to an extremely mysterious villain. It’s going to be a good one and you better buckle yourself in for a bumpy ride! It’s due on the 30th so will definitely give us a treat for the end of the month!
