Things that grow in value over time

Lily O'Keeffe

Items that grow in value over time are often promising investments. But who knew that some of these items have been right under our noses this whole time? Here is a list of some items that grow in value over time.

Collectibles – Collectibles is vague, but it covers so many different items that grow in value over time. This could be sports collectables, vinyls, stamps or many more. There’s always going to be a market for collectables, and as they grow older, the value will continue to grow too. There will be a stronger urge for others to have your collectable as it ages, as it will be harder to come by.

Movie Memorabilia – Original DVDs, posters, autographs, action figures and many more from films are likely to grow in value over time. Cult film memorabilia does particularly well, but films with high profile actors are also very popular. Movies that have stood the test of time, such as Star Wars, are perfect for this!

Coins – Specifically those made of silver or gold, if looked after properly, could be worth a lot of money in the future. Rare or commemorative coins will grow in value but coins that are no longer in circulation are even more likely to appreciate in value over time.

Board games – It may sound like a strange one, but some board games can grow massively in value over time. For example, some limited edition Monolopy sets go for more than £1000 online! The great thing about board games is that using different themes, for example, Harry Potter Cluedo, will apply to both Harry Potter fans, and Cluedo fans in years to come, meaning its value will only go up.

Kids Toys – It is so intriguing to see the toys we had as kids, grow in value over time. Classic Barbie dolls will go for way more than the original price, and even teddy’s can grow in value! I found after going through some of my childhood toys, that some Beanie Babies can go for thousands!

Gold – Now I know gold isn’t as easy to come by as board games and childhood toys, but it is an investment that almost never fails! Gold is one of the most precious metals in the world but in order to see great gains, you’ll have to be patient, as the longer you hold off, the more pricey it’ll become.

Real Estate and Land – Although not as promised as gold, the gradual growth of value in real estate and land is undeniable. Real estate is pretty promising and particularly thrives when the economy is doing well. One thing about real estate and land is that it often needs upkeep, unlike childhood toys and board games.
