Hello! I’m Yasmine, I’m 19 and a co-owner of The Tea Bees, a family-run UK based tea company. Alongside my Mum, we are loose-leaf tea specialists that are deeply passionate about all things ethical, environmentally friendly, health and wellbeing and of course tea! We have a wonderful and wide branch of connections, who have each been in the tea industry for over 30 years, knowing their Rooibos from their Darjeeling. We believe that nature is extremely powerful, having had education in aromatherapy and wellbeing we had to ensure our range is balancing and relaxing. This allows us to form flavours so beautiful it is hard to believe they are so beneficial too!
We wanted to chat with you about a few different types of teas, their origins, and each of their health benefits, so please feel free to grab a warm drink, a blanket and get comfortable.
To start, green tea has got to be one of our favourites! We cannot speak highly enough of the properties that green tea holds, so much so that we are adding another flavour to our collection this year! Containing higher amounts of amino acids than most teas, green tea is perfectly balancing, helping to reduce stress and maintain brain functions, aided by its low caffeine content.
Also, green tea while working is a must-have, especially after looking at a computer screen for so long. Its soothing properties are refreshing and taste wonderful too! As I will be a university student in September, I will be sure to keep a full supply for my daily work, it is the best balancing tea for stress relief! Drank greatly in Japan, we source from here like many. As experienced tea masters, handling the tea that goes into your cup know exactly what they are doing, we love transparency, and this method suits the blend perfectly.

Moreover, our G&Tea luxury green tea blend contains refreshing citrus, cucumber pieces with green and white tea. It is perfect for calming before going to sleep or whilst in a work environment. Without alcohol, it is great as a cocktail mixer or an iced tea, which we love!
Another stress relief tea is Earl Grey tea, it is a wonderful option. It is also known as Bergamot tea, a perfumed flavour from natural essential oils added to black tea. Coming in many flavours ranging from fruits to cream, it is a wonderful relaxing blend. We are always sure to have a mug of lavender earl grey before sleeping after stressful days as it always makes us sleep well, just what you need after a long day.

Our French Lavender Earl Grey is exceptionally great for reducing stress levels and anxiety. The notes of lavender running through each sip is extremely calming. The natural sweetness of the tea, although caffeinated, allows the floral taste a perfect place alongside the teas already calming flavour. Originating in France and Sri Lanka, the leaves are picked perfectly and at the highest grade. Aiding digestion and insomnia, especially alongside lavender, it is proven to promote the immune system in many ways, relaxing the brain and maintaining a good night’s sleep, it’s definitely worth a try!
We do have a particular fondness for a tea we did not know a lot about until two years ago whilst visiting its native country. Rooibos, also known as red bush tea, is a staple ‘breakfast tea’ of South Africa. Being as common there as Black tea in the UK. It has a distinct but delicate woody flavour, accompanied by milk, or without, it is beautiful and balancing tea with numerous health benefits.
This tea is naturally caffeine-free and comes in an array of unusual flavours as its delicateness works extremely well with citrus and sweet tastes. Its incredible antioxidant properties have been studied to aid the immune system, allergies, insomnia, anxiety, and stress as well as illnesses. Due to its huge range of benefits, we had to include this tea in our collection.
Furthermore, our Mint Chocolate Truffle and our Bonfire Spice Rooibos teas are blended to perfection to reach the perfect amount of each flavour, making them neither too strong nor overpowering. We enjoy a cup of Mint Chocolate Truffle after dinner as a sweet treat. We always find it to help digestion and relieves any stress before sleeping, another wonderful benefit to this tea. Be sure to try a cup if you can get your hands on one!
Having talked through a few types of our favourites, we hope you have learned some new information about everyday teas.
