Slow Cooker Hot Chocolate Recipe

Leana Goulden

Winter is here and it’s the best time of the year to cosy up on the sofa with a mug of something warm. Hot chocolate has to be the number one option for me. This little recipe creates the most velvety smooth and rich hot drink. It goes out o all of you fellow chocolate lovers. For me, there’s nothing worse than walking into a shop, ordering a hot chocolate and then being greeted by what is essentially, a cup of hot water. Possibly the best thing about this recipe is that it allows you to go back throughout the day for top-ups..yummy!!

Ingredients:

  • 350g Cadbury’s Chocolate (Feel free to use your favourite chocolate)
  • 2 Pints of whole milk
  • 150ml of Double Cream
  • A cap of vanilla essence
  • 2 tbsp of Sugar
  • 1 Shot of Irish Cream (Not essential, I just favoured a slight boozy option)

Step One:

Round up all of your ingredients and get your slow cooker plugged in and set to low.

Step Two:

Throw them all in!! Make sure to break up the chocolate into smaller chunks, this will allow it to melt into the mixture a little bit easier.

Step Three:

Pop your lid on and set a timer for 2 hours, you read that correctly, Ask Alexa.. she’ll help you out. Stir throughout, every half-hour, to ensure that the ingredients are completely mixed.

Step Four:

Enjoy your drink! Feel free to serve however you feel fit. Maybe the traditional squirty cream and mallows, an extra shot if you’re feeling festive, or just take it as it comes. Either way, it will be some beautiful chocolatey goodness!!!

TOP TIP

If you’re drinking this throughout the day, make sure to keep giving it a stir.. this will stop it curdling.
