Sian’s Kinder Cupcakes

Sian Freeman

I made these cupcakes for my brothers 18th and my family loved them! These cupcakes are easy to make and if your friends and family loved Kinder chocolate they will love these! I hope you all enjoy making them! This recipe makes 12 cupcakes.

Ingredients:

Cakes:

  • 150g Stork/margarine
  • 150g Caster Sugar
  • 3 Medium Eggs
  • ½ tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 tbsp Hot Water
  • Hazelnut white chocolate spread or Nutella

Icing:

  • 150g Unsalted Butter
  • 350g Icing Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Whole Milk (or enough until your icing is the consistency is how you want it)
  • 115g Kinder bars (melted)
  • Kinder toppings of your choice for the top

Method:

Cupcakes:

1.Preheat your oven to 170°C and line a 12-hole muffin tray.

2.Cream together your butter and sugar in a bowl.

3.Add in your eggs one at a time. Add a bit of flour each time you add an egg, as it stops the mixture from curdling! Then fold the flour into the mixture.

4.Add the boiling water and the vanilla extract and fold it into the mixture.

5.Spoon the mixture equally into 12 cupcake cases and bake for 15 minutes!

Icing:

6.Beat the softened butter until it is smooth. Then begin to gradually add in the icing sugar, making sure it is all completely mixed in.

7.Melt the kinder bars and let them cool slightly, and then add the melted chocolate into your icing and mix it all together.

8.Keep mixing your icing and add the milk a tablespoon at a time. Add the milk until the icing is the consistency you want. You want the icing to be a good consistency for piping/spreading.

Decoration:

9.Cut holes in the middle of each of your cupcake and spoon in your chosen spread.

10.Then decorate your cakes! I chose to pipe the icing on to mine, but you can spread it too if you find it easier!

11.Top with your favourite kinder treats! This could be anything from Happy Hippos to Bueno Bars!
