Lily’s Bucket List

Lily O'Keeffe

For me, my bucket list consists of things I want to achieve over the span of my whole life, I wouldn’t jump at the opportunity to do them all immediately. This list will keep me busy for many years to come, which works nicely for me.

My Bucket List

1. Travel to every continent!

I have always loved travelling, but it really kicked off for me when I started travelling alone. It was such a huge thrill to be so young and free. I have learnt such a great deal about myself by travelling by myself. I would love to go to every continent in my lifetime. I have so much more to see and experience and thankfully, time is on my side!

2. See the Northern Lights

The Northern Lights are just remarkable… like nothing else. I’m sure this is a popular one, but getting to see the skies glowing in the darkest hours, with all the most beautiful colours would be a dream. I see nowadays, people ‘see’ the Northern lights from their sofas watching live streams, and I do appreciate that there probably is a market for that, but I want more! I want to see it with my bare eyes, breathing in the crisp cold air and be wrapped up in the cosiest blankets with my loved ones to see such a natural delight.

3. Visit a vineyard and learn to appreciate wine

Probably the smallest goal on this list, is to start appreciating the art of wine, and visit a vineyard. I just think it seems so fun and it’s a must for me to do at least once. Good company, sun is shining and wine tasting… what on Earth could go wrong?

4. Complete the London Marathon

Now, I know this must be strange, especially for people who know me as I am in no way a runner. I actually really don’t like running or find it fun in the slightest, however, I could imagine the feeling of accomplishment after finishing the marathon is something on another tier. However, I won’t undermine how much work that is, so we’ll see.

5. Skydive

This is the only one on my bucket list that in my heart, I know I need to do, but my brain says absolutely not. I am not afraid of heights but it just seems like the most absurd thing to do, paying to be thrown out of a plane. It just doesn’t make sense. If I was to skydive, I’d want to do it somewhere beautiful, such as New Zealand! I think its one of those things, mind over matter. I know I should follow my heart but this is at the bottom of my bucket list for a good reason…
