Dear Aspect: Playlists, Graduation and Living alone

Lily O'Keeffe

Dear Aspect, any good playlist suggestions for chill out/ revision music?

On Apple Music, a great playlist for revision/ chilling is Acoustic Chill! It has over 100 songs and 6 hours of hits, perfect for downtime! An alternative to the Acoustic soundtrack, is the downtempo, Study Beats! This playlist will definitely include some new songs and artists for you to add to your library.

On Spotify, a great playlist for this would be Moonlight Bumps! Many use this playlist to help with sleeping, but it is also very effective for calming you down and focusing better. Chill Instrumental Beats is the perfect playlist for people who get distracted by vocals! The entire Spotify playlist is purely instrumental so this is ideal for the long draining essays!

Aspect… I’m worried about graduating without work experience?

With all of the current restrictions, this is a very normal worry! Remember, landing your dream job doesn’t happen overnight, so work experience can be done alongside a part-time job if necessary. Employers will understand that experience is hard to get this year. Try and utilise free online classes, guest speaker lectures and volunteering to show that you tried even during a pandemic! Employers will see your passion shining through!

Hi Aspect… any advice for students who live alone?

Living alone during a national lockdown isn’t for everyone, but it is important to make a routine, stay in touch with family and have things to look forward to. Use modern technology to your advantage so you can keep in touch with loved ones, and go for a daily walk if you can just to get some fresh air. Keep your space clean and tidy as it will make living there a more enjoyable and comfortable experience.
