The nations favourite show for sexy singleton’s has once again returned! After over a year of confusion, devastation and anger – being able to escape every night by sticking on the telly and watching people on holiday… it’s pretty beautiful!
Dear Aspect, Who are your favourite islanders so far?
To be fair to them, they’re all a good bunch of people and the vibes are now starting to be set as they’re growing more comfortable with each other. If I had to pick two people though… it would have to be Hugo and Kaz! I think Hugo is our Dr Alex for the season and honestly, we’re here for it! He’s kind, laid-back and certainly making a mark on the nation already. As for Kaz, she’s straight-talking, feisty and a firm favourite amongst viewers already. I think both of them will stick around on the programme for a while and hopefully find their match!
Hey Aspect, what challenge are you most looking forward to this year?
The one where they become parents!!! When the islanders are graced with those little plastic babies that never seem to stop crying – yeah that has to be the number one challenge! Year after year, it has brought the most laughter, from daddy races to competely disowning – it always gives the couples something to think about!
Equally, the lie detector test can be just as mind blowing! I think if it brings the drama and gives the islanders something to talk about, I’m all for it!!
Do you worry for the islanders when they leave the villa?
To put it simply, yes. I think the slack that islanders get following their time in the villa is unbelievable. I think after having a social media detox for so long and coming back to a whirlwind, it must be really difficult, especially when the comments are hateful. Equally, I don’t think people process the idea that their loved ones are actually in charge of their social media whilst they’re away so the hate will be witnessed by those closest to them.
I think this year, people are starting to stand up to internet trolls, I saw one love island fan page that chose to inform the keyboard warriors family of their hateful comments. That way it shapes a pathway into conversation with their families as to why they actually feel the need to be so hurtful whilst also then keeping names away from the general public. I think it is important for internet trolls to take a step back and be questioned as to why they believe it is acceptable to degrade someone else.
Far too many lives have been lost to online abuse, it needs to end.
