It’s been a crazy old week hasn’t it! Boris announced freedom day, football’s coming home and Love Island… well it’s certainly getting there!
Dear Aspect, What is your opinion on the atmosphere this year?
Leana: If I was to give it one word, I would probably say “dry”. I don’t know why but I’m definitely struggling to get into season more than any of the previous lot. I guess it just feels as though it is lacking, the conversation is a bit dead and the challenges haven’t been very spicy so far either! I’ve recently been binge watching season two of love island so comparing the two is honestly crazy – they couldn’t be further apart if they tried! To give it the boost that is needed, I think they need to throw in some A* challenges and a bombshell character like we’ve seen in the past. *Maura – WE LOVE YOU*
Hope: Similar to Leana, I think this year’s Love Island does not live up to the previous years. However, it is still early days and I am hoping that once we get into the middle of the season, it gets more entertaining.
Hey Aspect, who are your stand out contestants so far?
Leana: I am really struggling to suss out the contestants this year as they all seem quite reserved and not showing their complete selves yet! Can we blame them though after being stuck in lockdown’s for so long – I’ve certainly forgot how to chat to people properly. If I was choosing two… it would be Liberty and Hugo! I wanted to hop straight on a plane to give Hugo a hug when he was upset the other night – A man with emotion is lovely and no, he is not “too nice” either. Liberty is also a favourite of mine as she is just the sweetest girl that welcomes everyone with open arms, I do feel that she maybe quite naive in regards to Jake though – I really do not trust him yet. I’m fully expecting that I’ll want to be hopping on a plane to hug her too in the not so distant future!
Hope: Hugo is my favourite so far! To me, he seems the most genuine guy and like he went in that villa with his heart on his sleeve, ready to give it away to someone. With the whole drama about Hugo calling people ‘fake’, it pulled on my heartstrings to see him crying. Another thing is that none of the girls pic him, it’s like he’s this year’s Doctor Alex. For the girls, I would say Kaz and Liberty, they seem like they have not got a bad bone in their body. They’re nice to everyone and make everyone feel welcome.
Do you think that Casa Amor will be crazy this year?
Leana: YES. I’ve seen twitter flooding recently about which lads are going to be the newest members of ‘Destiny’s chaldish’ and I reckon Casa Amor will be the perfect place for Jake to drop a line on the single. Each year, we witness heartbreak at the introduction of the other villa and I really can’t see this year being any different. I’ve just got a feeling that this year is going to be bigger and more dramatic than it’s ever been!
Hope: I really do hope it is! A lot of people have already settled with their partners, so there is going to be way more drama if some new ones catch the Islander’s eyes.
