Hey, The Student Aspect, my name is Mandy Mee! I am an International Personal Matchmaker and Dating Coach for Professionals and The Elite. I am based in the beautiful city of Central London, UK and I’m a lover of the finest things in life, spirituality, fashion and the arts.
I’ve always had a knack for introducing people who I felt were compatible enough to establish a meaningful relationship. I was the go-to person when it came to helping people find a partner or overcoming relationship issues with personal advice, so simply, passion was the inspiration behind my profession. In my early career, working in television allowed me to meet a lot of interesting characters, where I would meet celebrities and the elite of the elite. Whilst building my connections, I instinctually helped crewmembers and celebrities find love offline as part of my hobby which led them to long term relationships and marriages.
I launched my business, The MME Agency by myself, off of the back of experience, dedication, study and faith. I launched my agency as I had seen that dating proved difficult for a lot of the individuals within my network. Having found a gap in the market, I created a niche to exclusively focus on busy professionals and celebrities who don’t have the time to date or use dating apps. A vetted process combined with matchmaking techniques that guarantees a holistic approach to dating, we’re able to introduce singletons worldwide who we feel are better suited for one another, taking into account cultural, moral, religious, societal, political and sexual compatibility, hoping they have chemistry in reality to solidify their intentions.
A typical day in my world starts with a cup of coffee or herbal tea to get my mind right. At around 10 am, I get on with checking my emails, organising dates for my clients, headhunting for matches, scheduling discovery calls and networking.
When I’m not matchmaking clients, I’m offering dating consultations, helping singletons navigate the world of dating and resolving relationship conflicts. My team also cover coaching related to self-development for those we feel require a bit of healing before embarking on their matchmaking journey to find love. I normally try to get in 2 hours worth of breaks during my working day, in order to meditate or unwind by listening to some neo-soul music.
I also have a number of press coverages and podcast features within the month so I ensure I find time to prep during the week.
Many people wonder what the matchmaking process is like, and for us, we prioritise a discreet and confidential service. Firstly, we start with a discovery call for potential clients to assess their eligibility to join The MME Agency. If I believe I have the ability to match them, I’ll suggest the package I feel suits them best, depending on their needs. Once this is achieved, we conduct a further assessment to understand their requirements, criteria, relationship history, personality traits, and lots more, then the hunt begins…
When we find a potential match, we arrange an in-person date so the pair meet face-to-face for the first time. For our international clients who are open to having a long-distance relationship, dates are organised over Zoom (video call).
With all these various tasks I do, I don’t typically end a working day until 10 pm. I make sure to round up my day by scheduling social media content for the following day and creating a daily to-do list so I can keep up-to-date with things. Although the days can be long, it is so worth the positive feedback that I get back from my clients! It makes me so proud when I hear how I’ve helped to heal a broken relationship or find the love of my client’s life… it brings me goosebumps every time.
When I’m not working, you can find me reading mindset, business or love books or binging a new series/movie! My ultimate relaxation days consist of a trip to the Spa, combined with meditation and spending time with my partner – bliss.
My favourite part of being a matchmaker has to be the lifestyle that it allows me to have! I get to meet the most interesting characters, attend luxury private events and build a network with like-minded coaches who support one another, gaining new perspectives in the process of helping singletons establish real connections.
It’s not as straight forward as it sounds though, as the job does come with it’s own challenges. Trying to match inconsistent clients or clients who are set in their ways is incredibly difficult. For example, a client whose dealbreaker is dating a man below 6ft tall. It can sometimes be challenging trying to convince them to look beyond the height of someone that we believe will be a good candidate.
Matchmaking may sound like fun, but it takes a passionate, patient, disciplined, secretive and resilient person to be successful in the field. Matchmaking is not an easy job, it’s a sensitive world and must be conducted with care, empathy and lots of love. Understand the market so you’re able to find your niche and learn from other matchmakers if you have no experience.
