Best home workouts

As we’re in the midst of yet another national lockdown, it is extremely easy to get lazy. We know this from personal experience. However, lack of exercise and an increase in comfort eating can have an adverse effect. It is not good for you, physically or mentally. Let’s put down the crisps and get some graft put in, together. I have banded a list together of 8 rather different workouts for you to try throughout this lockdown. I personally am debating between two… can you guess which ones?

TayorKaytee

Price: £30

What is included: 8-week Fitness Plan, access to an app to track progress and watch videos, access to private Facebook group where people share transformations and tips

Extra Information: The home-guide doesn’t require any equipment and focuses on the whole body. The E-Book also includes scientific backgrounds and nutritional advice.

When: You can buy and start this guide whenever you like.

Joe Wicks

Price: Free

What is included: PE with Joe includes 20 minute episodes to keep fit, for children and adults alike. Also on his Youtube channel, you can find beginner workouts, intermediate workouts, sweat challenges and many more.

When: PE with Joe Wicks is aired at 9am on Monday’s, Wednesday’s and Friday’s. However, they can be re-watched alongside his other videos at any point.

POPSUGAR Fitness

Price: Free

What is included: There is a huge variety of videos on their Youtube channel. From Latin dance cardio to Abs and butt-toning workouts, there is something on there for everyone.

When: Due to it being accessible on YouTube, these videos can be watched at any point. Try and create a routine… e.g. dance on Monday, Bums and Tums Tuesday etc.

Body By Ciara

Price: £15 a month

What is included: You will have access to 30+ live workouts per week to join in on. There will be everything from meditation and yoga to HIIT and weights so you can plan a week of variety!

Extra Information: You will also get Q&A sessions included as well as tips on nutrition.

When: The videos are uploaded to a private instagram. You can then access them when you please as you can playback on IGTV.

Move with Maia

Price: (Free 7 Day Trial) £24.99 Monthly after that

What is included: 35+ Pilates classes ranging from 10 to 50 minutes. New classes are published weekly with monthly challenges also being set for members. There is also the option to cancel at any time if you need to save some pennies.

When: You can sign up at any time and use your free trial to see if the classes would benefit you. You have 24 hour access to the programme so if a 3am session suits you, it is totally fine to do so.

Workshop Gymnasium

Price: Free

What is included: Many articles are included on this site with relation to workouts. Examples of articles are: 3 ways to wake up your glutes, How to stay motivated in your home workouts, Spotlight on chocolate protein formula. Sometimes, it isn’t always about the physical act of working out but instead understanding how your body works and what is best for it.

When: This site and the articles highlighted are available at all times.

Move Your Frame

Price: £7 a class

What is included: Each class is different and there is something to offer for us all. Postnatal Pilates, Frame Rave, Britney Barre… it’s definitely worth a browse!

When: It differs dependant on which class you are wanting so it’s worth having a look and seeing if it fits your time-table.

Barry’s Bootcamp

Price: £22 a class

What is included: It’s a bootcamp we’re talking about so be prepared to be pushed to your limits! The class is 50 minutes long and differs through each instructor. You should expect high-intensity workout in which your body is always moving. Many have left feeling that it’s worth the price you pay so maybe opt in, even if it’s only one session.

When: Barry’s rotates its schedule so you can do a different workout each day and target all areas of your body.
