In life, we all go through all kinds of encounters. We all face everyday challenges, all the while seeking self-discovery and happiness. Highs and lows, heartbreaks and achievements are always going to be there, and everything in between. So, the smallest few words can sometimes make all the difference; they can console and then encourage you.
It is important to have a higher force, no matter how old you are, where you come from, your race or religion. Anything you believe in can be that. While it can be a challenge for some days, it is important to have something that will motivate, empower, and help us remain optimistic and continue to move forward.
Here is a collection of quotes that are going to inspire me throughout the year, as well as lessons, reflections, and daily goals. They have helped me tremendously in difficult times, and it’s a special and personal gift that I want to share with you.
“My mother said to me, “If you are a soldier, you will become a general. If you are a monk, you will become the pope.” Instead, I was a painter and became Picasso.” – Pablo Picasso.
If not for the affection, friendship, and support of our mothers, we wouldn’t be where we are today. And when we don’t believe in ourselves, they still believe in us. That sense of conviction has given us so much confidence to follow our dreams and live them out. We have been taught by our mothers how to act with honesty, loyalty, courage, and devotion. Tell someone in your life this month that you’re grateful for all the support they’ve given.

“If you have a good thought, they will shine out of your face like sunbeams, and you will always look lovely.” – Roald Dahl.
Your joy is contagious when you are in control of your life and your happiness. Nothing makes a person look more beautiful in this world than when they are beaming with happiness. You never know how simple a smile is, or “how are you?” A friend could change their day or even their life. Smile and prove how amazing you are to the world. Be mindful of the feelings of individuals around you this month and consider the impact you may have on them.
“You’re only as strong as your weakest member; you’re only as positive as your most negative friend.” – Kelly Rowland.
You are who your mates are, so make sure that you know whom you hang out with and what your beliefs are. It is important to note how, and vice versa, our friends have such a strong impact on us. If your friends surround you with affection, allegiance, gratitude, and positivity, this can be a wonderful thing. In your life, is there someone who has made you feel bad about yourself? This is the month to have a heart-to-heart with the person if there is, to figure out how to remedy the problem.
“Always be a first-rate version of yourself instead of a second-rate version of someone else.” – Judy Garland.
There is no one else on this planet like you, just like snowflakes. Don’t waste your time pretending to be like other individuals. Be the best you possess and own it. You’re the best, not anyone else, to be yourself. No one would be special if we all looked, spoke, and walked the same way. There wouldn’t be individuality. What makes us unique and the world so fascinating is being different. Evaluate your character this month. Make sure you’re not modelling yourself after someone but instead being whom you’re supposed to be. Go ahead, be strange, because being “normal” is boring!

“Underneath it’s all the same love.” – Macklemore.
We are all made up of the same flesh and blood, with all our eccentricities and special gifts. We are bound by our differences as well as our similarities and are related equally. No matter how different each of us goes about living our lives, we are all on a journey to learn with greater depth and sincerity how to know and respect ourselves and others. Focus this month on what binds you to your friends, family, and peers.
“Parents can only give good advice or put them on the right paths, but the final forming of a person’s character lies in their own hands.” – Anne Frank.
Our parents, their talents and their shortcomings have influenced so much of our journeys so far. We know that our parents can teach us, and it’s up to us to make our lives what we want to be. Thank your parents for giving you the gift of life this month and doing their best.
“The most courageous act is still to think for yourself. Aloud.” – Coco Chanel.
Each one of us is born with a unique and remarkable gift that’s not only meant to change our lives but the greater world around us. I know this to be true because I’ve witnessed it throughout my life. Whatever your strengths are, they may be something that someone else wishes they had. So, use your gifts wisely and you’ll be amazed how much you can inspire others. Inspire someone this month just by being yourself.

“If you don’t want to slip up tomorrow, speak the truth today.” – Bruce Lee.
Many of us have told countless lies, big and small— it’s human I suppose. And if you say the slightest lie, be direct, come clean and apologize to yourself right away. This month do not tell a single lie, no matter how small.
“We can’t change the world unless we change ourselves.” – Biggie Smalls.
It’s necessary to remain free, to keep growing and evolving as imperfect beings on this planet. We make the world a better place as we improve ourselves and work to enrich our lives. This month join a philanthropic cause. Do your part in the community.
“And now we welcome the new year, full of things that have never been.” – Rainer Maria Rilke.
Spend some time evaluating the past year. Think about how you’ve evolved, how you’ve changed, what you want to keep doing, and what you’re ready to move on from. I always think that the last few days of the year are full of so much intense energy and possibility for change that the best thing you can do is sit and reflect. Create a list of everything you’ve achieved this year.
Stay strong, be courageous, be hard and true to love, and you won’t have to sacrifice anything.
